Public Policy Committee - OPEN TO ALL

Reston Town Center North:
Fairfax County and INOVA Partnering to Deliver New Community Benefits

More than 15 years in the making, this public-private partnership, in which Fairfax County and Inova jointly own nearly 50 acres between New Dominion Parkway and Baron Cameron Avenue, will reimagine the entire property to deliver new and improved community assets. First out of the gate will be the long-awaited replacements for Reston Regional Library and Embry Rucker Shelter. In addition, the proposed redevelopment will create a new 3.6-acre Central Green for public use, allowing for mixed-use development that embraces Reston's "Live, Work, Play" motto. The plan also includes replacement of North County Human Services building and provides locations for a future REC Center & school.

We will hear from the Fairfax County and Inova teams that have been leading this effort on how these plans were developed in collaboration with the community and when we will begin to see the transformation take shape.

The Public Policy Committee of the Greater Reston Chamber of Commerce meets on the second Friday of each month virtually from 9:00 AM - 10:00 AM.

The Public Policy Committee is a nonpartisan initiative designed to provide for members to shape the voice of the Chamber in advocating for local and state laws and regulations which impact our business and economic community, while developing a greater connection with our hard-working elected officials.

The Public Policy Committee produces the Chamber's Legislative Series - periodically scheduled events which bring together leaders and the community to discuss critical, relevant policy matters.

The committee welcomes any chamber member who wishes to learn more about legislative activities or to share information about the government affairs work you are conducting on behalf of your organization or industry.
